What to expect

It can be a little intimidating to walk into a church and not really know what's going to happen and when it will happen. We hope that this will help you understand what to expect when you join us for a church service at LCC.

We start with a song and then have a time of greeting. This gives you a chance to meet someone around you.

We have a few more songs then we have a time of communion. We pass crackers and grape juice that represent the sacrifice Jesus made for us. All believers are welcome to participate. It is not required for you to be a member of the church.

We then pass offering plates. Guests are not expected to give. Our members support the work and ministry of the church. You are welcome to give if you choose, but please do not feel pressured to do so.

We have children's church for your child during the sermon time. Typically we dismiss them to go downstairs before the sermon and this is for children in fourth grade and younger. We also have a nursery available during the whole service. The nursery is located next to the kitchen.

Our sermon is typically about 30 minutes. Our pastor uses humor and other stories to help you understand the Biblical message that he's giving that day. We dismiss everyone after the message.

If you have any questions when you are at a service we have a welcome center in the east wing of our building and there will be someone there to answer your questions. Our pastor greets at the doors as you leave and he makes himself available to answer questions, too. Our associate minister will be walking around greeting people and you can ask him anything you want to, also.

We hope this helps to see what a service is like at LCC. We do not single out guests or make you do anything that you don't want to do. We want to feel welcome and comfortable at LCC.
